  1. Sadly, this trade has the looks of a collection about Obama and the Presidential Election. Actually, what’s inside is the the culmination of months of storylines mainly the NYC Mayoral election. In this we get to see the reveal of Menace, the election results, the spider-tracer killer revealed, and more. It was packed with action and JRJR was his normal awesome artistic self. Really great stuff. The other parts of the trade were just backup items for the most part with the high selling Obama issue as well. It was goofy and pointless but it got new people reading comics so I guess that’s good. Overall, terrific stuff! Rating: 4 / 5

  2. This book finally shows the alter ego of Menace, prsented by JRJR’s art, that is simply great, this book also has the best single comic sold in 2009 with spiderman helping and saving Obama of the Chameleon. Rating: 5 / 5

  3. Story-wise, this is the big pay-off for reading since the Brand New Day relaunch. So if you haven’t been following Amazing Spider-Man since BND, I’d recommend you go back and read all those stories, not only would it help you with this story, there were a lot of fun stories as well.

It wraps up the Menace, Spidey-Tracer killings, Harry/Lilly, and elections plotlines. It was a fun story that was right up my alley. I didn’t expect for Menace to be who it was revealed to be. And I didn’t expect the reveal for what was the cause of the Spidey-Tracer killings, either.

Needless to say, the art was spot-on, JrJr is indeed the Spider-Man artist of this generation.

The back-up material was great, too. I especially enjoyed the art by Fabrizio.

Loved how slick this hardcover was, as well. Waiting for the trade can really suck at times but it was a treat reading this all in one sitting and this will look good on the shelf. Rating: 4 / 5

  4. The Spider Tracer Killer, The Civil Suit against Spider-Man and The Menace… Oh My.

Alright first off I’d like to inform everyone; unlike the product description– The core of this Graphic novel contains ASM #584-588.

The race for mayor is coming to an end and Spider-Man faces off with his most deadly foe (since Morlum)… Can he beat Menace alone? Or will he need the help from another goblin?

At long last, The spider tracer killer is reviled. And this conspiracy to frame Spider-Man runs deep. Can Carlie trust anyone when she discovers the truth?

Spider-Man is beat to a pulp and brought into custody facing criminal murder charges (and a civil suit) Who’s fearless enough to save Spider-man from the judicial system? Dare Devil perhaps? Not exactly.

As for everyone who’s interested ASM #583; the Spider-Man / Barack Obama team-up is in this graphic novel as well. Rating: 5 / 5
