That’s the problem with Utopias"they’re all-too-often built on a foundation of human tears. When an organism designed to abolish war is set into motion, and it decides that the only way to accomplish its objective is to eliminate anyone who could possibly pick up a weapon, there’s only one foursome to turn to if humanity is going to survive!

Over the past six months, Jessica Alba has spoken to MTV News three times, each time insisting that super spawn Franklin Richards was her preferred choice for any “Fantastic Four 3” storyline.
But don’t clink your glasses or hand out your cigars quite yet. Thing is, well, the Thing. Maybe somebody should have told Uncle Ben?
“That’s … interesting,” “F4″ star Michael Chiklis said, a wry smile across his face when we recently told him of Alba’s wishes. “She never said that to me. I didn’t know she felt that way.”
It would be hard for him to know that, Chiklis confessed, considering he hasn’t spoken to anyone involved with the film for quite some time.
But, then, there’s something else at play here too. While Reed, Susan, Johnny and Ben don suits to become Marvel’s first family of crime fighting, sacrificing individual glory for the sake of the team, the actors who play them, of course, all want to be front and center when it comes to filming those stories. Get Franklin in there and Mrs. Fantastic is suddenly in there too. A lot.
And for Chiklis?
“For selfish reasons, I would love to see Puppet Master happen, obviously,” he enthused, imagining the possibilities of a Ben Grimm-centered flick. “For those of you who know what I’m talking about, it would really tie in Alicia’s character and mine. It’s a great story line for the Thing.”

FANTASTIC FOUR #554 SELLS OUT @ DIAMOND, SECOND PRINT COMING

Press Release
Marvel is pleased to announce that the hotly anticipated Fantastic Four #554 has sold out at Diamond (though copies may be available at the retail level). The acclaimed dream team that changed superhero comics with Ultimates, writer Mark Millar and artist Bryan Hitch, present “World’s Greatest,” a storyline that takes the FF to places you’ve never seen before! To meet the overwhelming demand for this issue, Marvel is going back to press with Fantastic Four #554 Second Printing Variant, featuring Hitch’s stunning interior art on the new cover!
“First off, a great big thanks,” said Millar. “Our friends all pointed at us and laughed when we said we wanted to put FF back in the top ten, but we love this book. We have always believed in it and are both just delighted to see our naive, slightly deranged enthusiasm reach other people and translate into great sales. A huge thanks from both Scotland and England to everyone who got out there and supported us. We were really, really happy with the numbers, but to hear that the book sold out in a day is just nuts. We promise this is only the beginning and the fun has only begun!”
Bryan Hitch exclaimed, “For my part I'm amazed and delighted. We had hope for a solid sales hike and a confident seller but this has take us completely by surprise, especially as it's such a low-key and quiet start to the run as a whole. I'm currently pencilling the ninth issue and am on the last pages of what may well become a super-sized Christmas special, which if included in the run would make me on issue eleven by now. What's so exciting about the reaction to our first issue is that the best is still to come. I know it's said often enough as hyperbole but having seen the completed eight issues and Christmas special I can really say that the best we have is coming.”
Marvel urges readers to check their orders on all issues of Fantastic Four, with a quick sell out of #554 and Millar & Hitch continuing to draw rave reviews from all corners. Don’t miss Fantastic Four #554 Second Printing Variant, as two of the world’s greatest creators present the world’s greatest comic magazine like never before!

FANTASTIC FOUR: THE LOST ADVENTURE #1

WRITER: STAN LEE
PENCILS: JACK KIRBY
JOHN BUSCEMA
INKS: JOE SINNOTT
COLORED BY: CHRIS SOTOMAYOR
LETTERED BY: DAVE LANPHEAR
THE STORY:
IT’S THE COMIC BOOK EQUIVALENT OF A LOST BEATLES TRACK! Together, Stan Lee and Jack Kirby produced 102 consecutive issues of FANTASTIC FOUR. But there was a 103rd story they’d begun in 1970, but never finished—until now! Working from copies of Jack’s penciled pages, Stan Lee and Joe Sinnott have reunited, to complete the work they started almost four decades ago! Plus, this super-sized issue includes reproductions of Kirby’s unlinked penciled pages, with border notes and analysis by John Morrow, and a complete reprint of FANTASTIC FOUR #108 by Stan Lee and John Buscema, which incorporated some of the material from the lost story as a flashback.

Fantastic Four Tops DVD Sales and Rentals

Another new DVD release, Walt Disney Studios' Platinum Edition of "The Jungle Book," bowed at No. 1 on the Nielsen VideoScan First Alert sales chart for the week ending Oct. 7, but "Silver Surfer," which debuted at No. 2, also was available in a two-pack with the original "Fantastic Four." Combined sales numbers put the summer theatrical hit slightly ahead of "The Jungle Book."
Meanwhile, on Home Media Magazine's national DVD rental chart for the same week, "Silver Surfer" easily took the top spot in its first week, generating an estimated $9.5 million in rental revenue.
"Silver Surfer" also topped the Blu-ray Disc charts its first week out, while "Knocked Up" remained at No. 1 on the HD DVD charts for the second straight week. Both titles are exclusive to their respective high-def formats.

DOUG JONES: SILVER SURFER, SWIMMING SAPIEN, SUPERNATURAL SPANIARD - PART 1

Chances are excellent that you’ve seen Doug Jones in the movies, on TV and/or on billboards – and chances are almost as good that you haven’t seen his face or even heard his voice. This is because Jones, who’s currently riding a wave of stardom as the latter half of the title in FANTASTIC FOUR: RISE OF THE SILVER SURFER (due out on DVD October 1), is often cast in roles that call for him to be covered head to toe in makeup that obscures not only his features, but also his humanity.
The last year has brought Jones unexpected levels of fame. He played both the mysterious, mischievous Pan and the terrifying Pale Man in filmmaker Guillermo Del Toro’s dark historical fantasy PAN’S LABYRINTH, which was nominated for a Best Foreign-Language Film Oscar and won an Oscar for the elaborate makeups worn by Jones (as well as for cinematography and art direction). Then came the huge success of SURFER.

Brevoort; Addresses Fans Fears Of FF4 Delays

Will The Fantastic Four Follow The Same Printing Schedule As The Ultimates? Brevoort Says No But Only Time Will Tell.
W]hile I can’t necessarily put every fear you may have to rest, I can tell you that Mark and Bryan have been working on the book for several months now. Mark’s already turned in nine scripts (some of them only in first draft form, and needing at least one minor revision—but written nonetheless.) And I’ve got in hand three full finished issues of pencils from Bryan, and he’s already a good portion of the way into the fourth—not to mention the first nine cover images. So at least at the outset, any delay of service should be minimal.
